Polarized Sunglasses Stops the Light Glare and Gives Clear Vision
Have you heard of polarized sunglasses? If not, know that it is not your ordinary pair of sunglasses; it in fact provides clear vision when you are in the sun. Polarized sunglasses offer better protection for your eyes.
You need a pair of
polarized sunglasses, if you are into sports like surfing, skiing, golf, biking, and snow sports. This kind of sunglasses keeps your eyes away from the sun's harmful UV rays. Over the years, these sunglasses were highly popular with the fishermen and the boaters. If you are light sensitive, then it is sensible to wear the polarized sunglasses indoors.
What's the use of having polarized lenses?
Light that is reflected from smooth water and flat roads is usually horizontally polarized. Thus, the light is not scattered in different directions, but is reflected in a horizontally oriented direction. The intensity of the light is harmful and you end up hurting your eyes. Polarized lenses have a certain filter that prevents the intense reflected light from entering your eyes and this helps reduce the glare.
Polarized glasses not only provide protection from the glare of intense light, but also shield your eyes from the dust and wind. It is also advantageous that these glasses are really lightweight and are highly comfortable to wear.
Get ready to purchase polarized sunglasses
If you are looking forward to buying a pair of polarized sunglasses, then know that it will be quite difficult to get a low price. The Internet is the best place to look for polarized sunglasses at affordable rates. Be careful and steer clear of companies offering polarized lenses at low prices and where the deal is made to sound too good to be true.
Before you decide to buy your polarized sunglasses from an online source, it is always advisable to check the background information of the source properly.

The Shadow a Cautionary Tale for Our Times
Don"t mess with The Shadow.
The Shadow is a new opera by composer Omar Daniel and librettist Alex Poch-Goldin about intrigue, desire and deception in Old Barcelona. It centers around Raoul, a postman who woos a young lady, lives beyond his means trying to impress her and gets chased down by his shadow.
The Shadow is more than just a metaphor in this case. It has been a tradition in old Barcelona to have a man exceptionally dressed follow around, or shadow, those who don"t pay their debts, shaming them into paying up, or exposing their secrets and making their lives miserable as recompense. In some cases, this practice still exists in Barcelona today, with an El Cobrador del Frac (The Debt Collector in Top Hat and Tails).
The opera, directed by Tom Diamond, isn"t your typical lavish, melodramatic production and it"s more pleasurable as a result. The intimate Berkely Street Theatre houses this show and most of the story sung in English. There"s a small flat-panel TV suspended above the left side of the stage, hovering over the seven-piece stage "pit orchestra" ensemble. It subtly provides translation surtitles to the Spanish-sung passages. In such a small venue, it"s a delight to see up close the facial expressions of the performers.

Madonna and the Mahina
Madonna has my favorite Louis Vuitton bag of recent years, the slouchy chic Mahina. The shape is modern and casual and it manages to showcase the iconic (if over exposed) logo in a subtle manner. This is the XL size ($3,360 and almost 30" wide!), way too big for me and for a person who is recovering from a recent horse injury. But then again, she"s grinding the ax at the gym already, what"s a heavy bag!?!? I personally like the L size ($2,740), it"s still very large at 18" but it folds and drapes into itself, appearing much smaller.
She does look a bit off though, her coloring is very pale and she is missing that Madonna sparkle. Maybe she should take more time and rest from her injury. Louis Vuitton available online at eLUXURY.com (Photo via People.com)

Madonna reportedly set to adopt again
Officials say papers have been filed and pop star is headed to Malawi.
BLANTYRE, Malawi - Madonna is planning to adopt a second child from Malawi, officials said Thursday, but questions have already been raised over whether the newly divorced pop star will face obstacles because of her single mom status.
An official at the Malawi welfare department said Madonna, who is 50 and a mother of three, had filed adoption papers in the southern African country. Another person in Malawi close to the case said Madonna would be there this weekend and a court could hear her adoption case as soon as Monday.
A U.S. government official confirmed that an adoption bid by Madonna, an American, was under way.

Anna Faris Wants to Marry Beau in 2009
Actress Anna Faris and her fiance Chris Pratt are planning a 2009 wedding.
The House Bunny star announced her engagement to actor Pratt in January(09), and the 32-year-old reveals neither wants to wait to tie the knot.

I have a good girlfriend who is getting married next month, and she"s got 13 bridesmaids.
So that"s not quite my style.

Glamour's Salute to American Icons
For their 70th anniversary issue, Glamour magazine enlisted a few celebrities to recreate the images of iconic women. I"m not sure if these particular celebs are the first ones that would have come to my mind if I were charged with pulling this shoot together but the photos are nice enough. You can see the rest of them here.
Not only is Obama the first African American filling the position, but she’s already making best-dressed headlines for a style that ranges from couture to J.Crew. Raised in Chicago, Obama, 45, powered on to Princeton and Harvard Law School before beginning a career during which she met, mentored and married our current President. Hail to our newest smart, opinionated, chic First Lady!
“She has worked hard for everything she’s accomplished, and done so with grace and humility. So many women and girls can identify with her story.”—Alicia Keys, 28, whose most recent album is As I Am
After years of playing segregated tennis, the late Althea Gibson tore down the color barrier of competition in 1950, when, at age 23, she became the first African American to compete in major U.S. championships—and, in 1957, the first to win Wimbledon. In her crisp whites, “the Jackie Robinson of tennis,” as she was known, won 11 major titles.
“She showed women…you can be sweaty, be gorgeous and do a great job.”—Chanel Iman, 19, cohost of MTV’s House of Style
As an aspiring singer, Holiday suffered sexual abuse, struggled with a drug habit and encountered racism everywhere. But the late Lady Day—one of the first African American women to sing with an all-white orchestra—translated all of that pain into some of the most achingly personal songs ever recorded. (Download “Strange Fruit,” which she sang at her 1948 Carnegie Hall concert, and listen for yourself.)
“You can imagine that women at home hearing her songs on the radio felt her vocalizing their emotions and their struggles.”—Paula Patton, 33, of the upcoming drama Push, wearing Holiday’s trademark gardenia in her hair

Essence: Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams, and Iman
That"s a lot of pink.
While I will say that it is nice to see a few unexpected faces on the cover of Essence, I still think it would have been nice to feature Taraji P. Henson (or Viola Davis) alone on the cover. It"s been proven a thousand issues over that Essence just hates to put new faces on their covers. I guess this issue is their way of getting credit for three so that next month they can go back to business as usual and split the year between Jada, Halle, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and maybe Mo"nique.
I haven"t seen this one on the stands yet. I wonder if it contains their annual "Black Don"t Crack" feature.
Out of curiosity, who would be your top choice to appear on the cover of Essence Magazine?

HEATHER MILLS' BAD (& TOTALLY IRRELEVANT) HAIR
good evening! all day long i was annoyed because right after all the oscar craziness left hollywood blvd - the jonas brothers moved right in .... earlier this evening was the premiere of their 3D concert experience (with special guests demi lovato & taylor swift - double ugh) over at the el capitan theatre - starting around 9am a bunch of girls along with their moms started waiting in hopes of catching a glimpse of the brothers - those fans screamed at the top of their lungs all day long - it was driving me bonkers at work! they screamed when the lights were set up .... when the purple carpet rolled out - every little thing that happened was met with prepubescent screaming - then all hell broke loose when kevin, nick and joe showed up in a black SUV around 5:30pm! i seriously don"t get why they"re all the rage - i do find joe jonas quite attractive but the band"s music totally sucks major ass! if i were a tween - i"d much rather listen to miley cyrus .... that"s saying a lot (even hanson was more talented than these guys) topping the insanity all off - the traffic sucked just as bad as their music - thankfully there won"t a mob of jonas fans squatting on the blvd! (when i walked home at lunch - i saw them up close & personal - oh my word - not as bad as claymates but almost!)
right now i"ve got pictures of heather mills (ex-wife and baby momma to paul mccartney) running errands in new york city - the windy weather was not kind to her new short hairstyle which looks completely awful if you ask me (along with her plumped up lips) at least she looks more her true self - an annoying bitch - she could easily play cruella de vil - i can"t really see girlfriend doing anything else! i don"t hate her or anything but if i never heard about heather again - that would be just fine by me - i bet mr. mccartney and his bank account feel the exact same way! popbytes over & out for tonight .... xoxo

I Am Now Officially Hooked On 'American Idol.
I have to admit that it"s taken some time for me to find my favorite "characters" on this season of American Idol. The auditions, while amusing, failed to really wow me over with no major big voices truly standing out amongst the fray. Thankfully, Fox limited those rounds to a scant three weeks (instead of the usual month of multiple two-hour episodes that make you want to shoot yourself by the end of the process). Now we"ve moved on to Hollywood Week, one of the most under-appreciated and vital phases of the show. American Idol producers have unwisely fumbled this essential, character-building for the previous two iterations, starting with notorious season six (ie. the Sanjaya season) when Hollywood Week was crammed into basically one or two accelerated episodes. Gone was the drama of Group Night (which had yielded so much fun the year prior - remember those awful twins?), and as a result, we were left with a bunch of kids on stage that no one really knew. The ratings fell, the season was considered a failure, and the show has been slightly reeling ever since.
Last year, the producers returned some luster to Hollywood Week, but again, there wasn"t a whole lot of drama. I"m not even sure Group Night even existed. Either way, we were once again left with a bunch of singers whose biggest negative quality was their lack of personality. This year, however, the producers have returned an emphasis on Hollywood Week by allowing it to unfold over two weeks of programming. Plus, they"re wisely following several standout singers that we recognize from the auditions. True, they do this every year, but this time, it feels like we"re seeing more (unlike season six when several promising auditioners completely disappeared into thin air). The result? Pretty good! Not only are we getting to know the singers better, but by the end of Group Night, I had already developed some favorites (not to mention some that I most certainly hate), and that"s what reality TV is all about, right? Rooting for those you love and cursing and ridiculing those you despise.
Oh please let this be a good season....

Sessilee Lopez
I get really tired of seeing this same drab background used in editorial after editorial in American fashion magazines, but I do enjoy seeing Sessilee get more work. I especially like the styling here.
